The Clever Crow – A Classic Tale with a Lesson

There was once a poor woodcutter who accidentally dropped his axe into a river. As he sat crying, a deity appeared and offered to help. The deity brought out a golden axe and asked, “Is this yours?”The woodcutter said, “No.”Then came a silver axe. “Is this yours?”Again, he said, “No.”Finally, the deity pulled out his old axe. “This one?”“Yes! That’s mine,” he said with joy. Impressed with his honesty, the deity gifted him all three axes. Moral:“Honesty is the best policy.” A simple act of truthfulness can bring unexpected rewards.
